A monthly group where members will enjoy watching a classic or cult film selected by the group.

  BOOK GROUP FOR BOOK LOVERS
An opportunity to discuss your favourite quality literature (both classic novels and modern must-reads) in a friendly atmosphere.

A ten-week course which enables members to start writing and develop confidence in their writing.

A monthly group for members who want to develop their writing skills in a supportive and friendly environment.
The group will start in January 2020 providing there are enough members to make it viable.

Reading through a variety of plays by both well-known and lesser known authors. No dramatic performances are required!

This group encompasses a wide range of projects that can be created in fabric. These can range from applique, tapestry, patchwork, dressmaking (on a small scale) through to quilting. All levels welcome.

An opportunity to play friendly, sociable games of badminton. We are currently looking for enough members to make this viable.

  BEGINNER'S BALLROOM AND LATIN
We will cover a variety of different ballroom and latin dances in a friendly and sociable environment.  You are welcome to come along if you have some proficiency or if you are an absolute beginner, as some guidance and tuition will be provided.

Slow walks in and around Woodley taking time to enjoy what we see on the way. Stop to watch bIrds, identify fungi and photograph flowers, etc.

The group is for anyone who enjoys walking and taking photographs. Fancy cameras are not needed. The session will end with a pub lunch.

A Sunday morning ramble of 4-7 miles on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Starting within 20 miles of Woodley. Sometimes followed by a pub visit.

We are not Spanish or Classical guitar - mostly strumming with some of us singing.  We will have a go at anything, Buddy Holly, Abba, Eva Cassidy and much more, and have even tried Ed Sheeran. We will try anything any of us in the group come up with.

  FAMILY HISTORY FOR BEGINNERS 1 and 2
Tracing Ancestors can seem a daunting task! Come and learn how
to trace your ancestors back to the late 1700s through the use of a variety of records. Members must have their own laptops or tablets to bring to the sessions.

  FAMILY HISTORY FOR EXPERIENCED RESEARCHERS
A course that supports group members in exploring a wide range of records to further their research and to produce ancestral reports or books that really bring their family history to life. Members must have their own laptops or tablets to bring to the sessions.

  DOCUMENTING THE HISTORY OF WOODLEY
Using the convenor's extensive documents about the beginnings and development of Woodley, come and learn about different aspects and then work together to jointly produce a booklet for self-publication.

A monthly group to discuss a topic of current science. The group may also attend public lectures, exhibitions and visit museums.

The aim of the Group will be to start with the current GCSE as a base level, with a view of heading towards the current A level. The content can be modified to suit the groupís interests.

By picking up on medical topics in the news and discussing them, together with the associated problems of understanding and implementation, in a friendly non-medical environment can we achieve a greater understanding of current medicine?

We offer a range of interest and activity groups. Meetings are held at group members' homes or at selected venues - depending on the size of the group. New groups will be added as more volunteers come forward as Group Leaders (known as Group Convenors). Please visit our Groups Looking for Convenors page.

  LOCAL TRIPS OUT
A group that will visit local places of interest via public transport or members' own transport. Venues can include gardens, NT houses, museums. Members will be responsible for paying for their own admission and transport costs.
The first planning meeting will be in September.
